Kindergarten Portraits and Second Grade Weaving

Check out these crayons! We love them! The 5th grade students learned about Value- the lightness and darkness of a color.  They used Value to add shading to crayon drawings, making them look more realistic.  Their work is wonderful!

All Arts Night Art Show

We are super busy getting ready for our All Arts Night! Every student at Fork Shoals will have a piece of artwork displayed as part of our Art Show that night.  You can also join us that night for recorder and drumming performances, a Spanish activity, and dancing in the gym! All Arts Night is Monday, March 14 at 6 pm at Fork Shoals.

Heart Mural

The First and Second Grade students loved viewing Jim Dine's heart paintings.  They learned new painting techniques as they created hearts inspired by Dine's work.  I put them all together to create this large heart art piece! Check it out!

4th Grade Paper Mache Cats

Below are some pics from the beginnings of our 4th grade paper mache cats! The students loved building these and especially loved the paper mache mess! The next step is painting and details.  These will be on display at our All Arts Night Art Show- March 14th.  They're looking great!

5th Grade Students Starting Clay!

The Fifth Grade students are starting clay this week! We are making coil pots.  Stay tuned!

Leaf Printing

The 2nd grade students learned about printmaking and making prints using leaf plates.  They loved the mess! We will use these to become backgrounds for a torn paper owl collage in the weeks to come.

First Week Painting

All of the classes have begun the year with painting lessons! Below are some pictures of students working on their first projects- Starry Night inspired skies for second grade and Elements of Art review trees for 5th grade.  It has been a great start to the new year!
